Baby boomer Diva, Karlyn.
I say baby boomer diva because she is a proud member of one the the most dynamic group of baby boomer women in the internet world.
Please allow me to share a little information about this “new mom of a blog” directly from one of her sites. She states:
I’ve lived in Southern California since January of 1967.. all my life. I grew up with my older sister and brother in Los Angeles, Orange Country and then Riverside, where I currently still reside with my husband and two children.
I didn’t use computers for much more than chatting and playing online scrabble.. that is, until some time in 1996, a friend of mine showed me the family page he was building. My first response to having a family website was something like “why?”, hehe.. but after seeing what was possible and understanding the value of having a place on the www where you can share your news and photos with family and friends as a way of keeping in touch. So with plenty of encouragement from my friend and an urge to learn more about this website building, I ventured out into the web-design wilderness! Since then, I’ve been designing websites and graphics for myself and others and enjoying every minute.
Visit my online portolio if you have a minute..

.. and if you are ined of design services, consider contacting me.
My design site can be viewed here:

Now let me introduce you to the new born baby which reflects the glory of her photography now, and the months to come. Click here to see the site.
Now I want you to promise that you will comment and go back often to enjoy this wonderful work.

Connect Simply is the brain child of Heidi Caswell. The focus of this soothing blog is to Create a Personal Touch in a High Tech World.
I was captivated for a few moments by the beautiful almost hypnotic artistic header. The flower makes you want to take one of those “cleansing breaths” and you feel an immediate relaxation.
Allow me to share a wee bit from her ABOUT page. Notice that she welcomes you as warmly as her site.
Thanks for dropping by! I’m glad to meet you. A little about myself, I’m a retired Air Force Brat. Growing up we traveled a lot. I got the love various parts of my country, met a lot of cool people, learned much from my parents, and occasionally sat on my little brothers.
Today, I’m a go-here-and-there mom of 7. Stay-at-Home Mom is a weird term, I’m betting most of us put more miles on our vehicles than many traveling salespeople. Like my kids, I have to be creative.
This site covers techi stuff , business and networking all while keeping a focus on “staying in touch” The best thing to do is take a visit relax, learn and stay a while.
Rosie
PS Please do not leave her site without clicking on her services. Ahh, the key to staying in touch without much effort in the midst of your daily madness.

Pop Art Diva will bring you back to those really fun times of Pop Art.. This fun site takes pages out of pop art history compares them to today’s culture. When you go on the site pay close attention to the detail of the header. The Pop Art Diva could probably do a contest based on that creative piece of art.
Let me share with you the description of the site;
American Pop Culture of Today versus Yesterday from a Baby Boomer’s Point of View, the PopArtDiva™ Blog is a trivial pursuit of pop culture in America. Just taking an ironic poke at the iconic folk, a social commentary on the silliness of trends, an occasional rant about the unpredictabilities of life. All with some cool art to make the journey more bearable! Return with us now to those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear.
This is not your typical historical site. It is a piece of art work in itself. A combination of philosophical musings and exciting images that captivate your memory and imagination. In other words the site makes you think while having fun at the same time.
The art work is awesome. But you can see even more if you visit the website.
I think you will also find her bio fascinating;
POP ART DIVA INVITES YOU TO AN ARTISTIC & JOURNALISTIC BLAST TO THE PAST! I was born during the baby boom and much of my childhood became the pop culture of America. Family vacations were taken on Route 66 in our ‘55 Chevy where we stopped at roadside diners that are now part of the past. I grew up watching television classics like “I Love Lucy”, going to drive-in moves and listening to the icons of Rock and Roll. I was in the Peanut Gallery on Howdy Doody. My teens were the time of Woman’s Lib, the Peace Movement, Viet Nam, Nixon versus Khrushchev, the Cold wore, the Moon Landing, Pop Psychology, Mini Skirts and Motown. I bought 45’s of the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead, ironed my hair and drank cherry cokes at an actual soda fountain. American Graffiti was my childhood, Peter Pan was my dream, Platoon was my reality and Haight Ashbury was my hope. Now decades later I find myself going home again in the only way I know how – through my art, my web sites and my blogs. So please join me on my journey to the past and let’s cruise down memory lane together – it’s sure to be an “E” ticket ride. I’M GOING DOWN MEMORY LANE – COME RIDE SHOTGUN WITH ME!
So take the ride with the Pop Art Diva and enjoy this powerful, underestimated site. Remember you read about here when she is on Oprah or her art work is on the front page of Time Magazine!

Is Post On Fire another Digg ? I don’t know the answer to that. But it is a boomer friendly social bookmarketing site that is flying high before it’s launch! I do like the category offerings which I feel are more extensive than Digg.
I just signed up and made a post and it was not dramatic! They allow you to post a picture with each post. It does not have to be your mug shot but can be a picture that relates to you post.
Let me share with you the first paragraph from the about page on the site:
Post on Fire is a social bookmarking/networking site for bloggers & blog readers.
It’s a free online community anyone can join. PostOnFire users discover & share the best blog posts on the net. PostOnFire includes a voting system that put our readers in control of which blog posts should be in the front page.
When a new link to a blog post is submitted, it will be added instantly to our “just submitted” section. When a blog post link in the “just submitted” section receives enough votes and less “extinguish”, it will move to the front page “hot posts”.
“Extinguish” is a feature that let users report a link that is not worthy or it’s a spam. When a blog post link receives too much “extinguish”, it will be discarded.
There is more but you can read it for your self. It has the feel of Digg because you can vote for posts. That’s really exciting. Also, there is a contest which makes inviting to keep posting your best entries.
There is much more and just the promise of an opportunity for more links back to your site is worth the visit. However, what about the quality of the posts? I am glad you asked. The categories range from politics to art. The posts are well written and not a waste of time. You will find your interest there.
I was also told that there are a lot of members over 40 and that is another reason I wanted to share this site with my readers. So,”as the you will get used to saying, “Fire up” and keep blogging. I will see you over there.
PS There is also a blog.!
