Are you neglecting your blogs? Do you feel like putting them up for adoption or throwing them away? I know this sounds harsh but I am in the process of making that decision. I am re-evaluating all my sites. I am also working on a strategic plan for each site I keep.
Does that make sense? I can no longer afford the time to blog when the mood hits or when I come across something I want to share. That often means stopping what I am doing and posting on one of my sites. Think about it. We cannot afford to do that in our everyday life.
I mean imagine if you were housecleaning, stopped to look up an old magazine on Ebay, then found other distractions while online? House work will not get done. Well, that is what I have just done and must get back to accomplishing my goals for the day.
The same thing can happen with our blogging. If you have more than one blog we must consider being systematic, not anal, but systematic if your blogging is more than just recreational.
This baby boomer life is busy enough and if blogging is part of your weekly activities I, for one, feel we owe it to our readers to either provide quality content. What do you think?
As soon as you get to the Facebook Page of Suzie Cheel she engages you with a video. I love her energy, sincerity and warmth. You get to know her right away while she shares what her page is all about. She is using a Welcome page which I have not seen too often on pages. As a matter of f act I hope she shares how she did it and the apps she used for her html opt in. How very cool.
Her scenic background invites you to go sip on some green tea and rest while you chat with Suzie.
So far she has 91 likes and I strongly suspect it will just go up. I am hoping that she does share some of her cooking tips. Keep up the great work Suzie!
Watch this short clip about a full figured baby boomer who decides to fit in an exercise routine while coming up with blogging ideas. I can call her big because it is me! I am trying to get to my fighting weight. Ha!
Yes, it is the season to enjoy outdoor activities. You can also do a virtual outdoor Blog Carnival right now! So, take a few minutes and visit some of these great blogs hosted by an insightful baby boomer blogger. Many of you know that I am a stickler for About pages. If you really want to get to know other baby boomer bloggers read their About pages.
The blogger, Joe Hauckes, the host of this Blog Carnival has a clearly written about page. It is not long but gets right to the point.See below:
I was just on an awesome baby boomer site called The Baby Boomer Entrenprenuer. This blog is run by a baby boomer marketing, copywriting and business coach expert-Andrea J. Stenberg.
Yes, this short post is about her post on Skype but please spend some time enjoying all the other rich information. I was very impressed as you will be also. Her site is bright, engaging and easy to navigate.
My friend and fellow baby boomer, The Wordpress Wizard, Cathy Perkins is starting yet another workshop series. She is really, I mean really knows her stuff. I have learned a lot from her and still learning.
So listen now to her description of the workshop in her own words. It’s short and you can start it by clicking on the play button at the beginning of the blue bar. If you get interrupted by a phone call just click on pause.
Here is a great tutorial video by an infamous baby boomer techi and teacher, Cathy Perkins. View this video then do it! I DARE YOU! Then let me know if you write a book from your blog posts.
Is it possible that everything we read on the internet is not true? Yet, how many of us may read something and believe it is because we KNOW the sender? How can we check out the facts?
This issue was addressed today by one of the most prolific baby boomer writers on the internet, Martin Diano. ( I can prove that statement)He posted an article called How Misinformation is Spread over the Internet. Please read it and share with others. Perhaps as we encourage others to stop and think before we spread information we can make some kind of positive impact. We might even save a life, business or someone’s sanity.
There were many Mother Day messages yesterday. Many came from internet marketers. But after hearing a great message at church from my Pastor’s wife I read a post that was special. Why was it special? Because the focus was on how older women sustain dramas in their life. These older women have passed this on to younger women and the keep doing it.
Hence, baby boomer women have not only learned how to cope with life issues from older women in their lives, but are finding added purpose by passing on their knowledge and expertise to younger women today. Now we have the internet. That means blogging and other forms of social media are making it even easier for us to share our wisdom.
Now, off course, baby boomer men are doing the same thing. But today I wanted to showcase a baby boomer woman who posted a message on time management on a blog talking about babies. How cool is that?
The blog is titled, Baby Boomer Bites, and read the About the Author section of the blog to get an idea of the wisdom behind this site.
Nonna Joann Bruso is the Baby Bites Blogger
Let me give you a big Nonna hug to welcome you to my blog home. My grandkids call me “Nonna,” and you can, too.
It’s true, “Necessity is the (grand) mother of invention.” Stumped over failed methods that did nothing to change my grandson’s picky eating, I was asked for suggestions on how to overcome his aversion to eating many foods. I have over 40 years of experience in parenting and nutrition has been a passion (which began by solving another health issue for a daughter).
After throwing out trendy (but ineffective) methods and implementing a multi-sensory approach, we began to see a dramatic transformation in a matter of days! We were ecstatic when Joshy, the king of picky eaters, began to eat once-refused whole foods on his own! I call this technique the Baby Bite steps. It works for all picky eaters, because it’s not really about eating, but about learning. Of course, it didn’t take long and the Baby Bite steps became a book: “Baby Bites: Transforming a Picky Eater into a Healthy Eater.” Next, it seemed logical for twice-weekly podcast, “What’s Cookin’ with Nonna?” where I serve up oodles of food fun and hot kitchen tips, with a generous helping of sizzling nutrition news…and now the Baby Bites Blog!
Make yourself at home and let’s chat. I’ll do everything I can to help you transform your picky eater into a healthy eater!
So, enjoy this post called A Mother’s Day Gift for you. And for all the baby boomers reading this post, keep passing it on!
