Is it possible that everything we read on the internet is not true? Yet, how many of us may read something and believe it is because we KNOW the sender? How can we check out the facts?
This issue was addressed today by one of the most prolific baby boomer writers on the internet, Martin Diano. ( I can prove that statement)He posted an article called How Misinformation is Spread over the Internet. Please read it and share with others. Perhaps as we encourage others to stop and think before we spread information we can make some kind of positive impact. We might even save a life, business or someone’s sanity.

There were many Mother Day messages yesterday. Many came from internet marketers. But after hearing a great message at church from my Pastor’s wife I read a post that was special. Why was it special? Because the focus was on how older women sustain dramas in their life. These older women have passed this on to younger women and the keep doing it.
Hence, baby boomer women have not only learned how to cope with life issues from older women in their lives, but are finding added purpose by passing on their knowledge and expertise to younger women today. Now we have the internet. That means blogging and other forms of social media are making it even easier for us to share our wisdom.
Now, off course, baby boomer men are doing the same thing. But today I wanted to showcase a baby boomer woman who posted a message on time management on a blog talking about babies. How cool is that?
The blog is titled, Baby Boomer Bites, and read the About the Author section of the blog to get an idea of the wisdom behind this site.
Nonna Joann Bruso is the Baby Bites Blogger
Let me give you a big Nonna hug to welcome you to my blog home. My grandkids call me “Nonna,” and you can, too.
It’s true, “Necessity is the (grand) mother of invention.” Stumped over failed methods that did nothing to change my grandson’s picky eating, I was asked for suggestions on how to overcome his aversion to eating many foods. I have over 40 years of experience in parenting and nutrition has been a passion (which began by solving another health issue for a daughter).
After throwing out trendy (but ineffective) methods and implementing a multi-sensory approach, we began to see a dramatic transformation in a matter of days! We were ecstatic when Joshy, the king of picky eaters, began to eat once-refused whole foods on his own! I call this technique the Baby Bite steps. It works for all picky eaters, because it’s not really about eating, but about learning. Of course, it didn’t take long and the Baby Bite steps became a book: “Baby Bites: Transforming a Picky Eater into a Healthy Eater.” Next, it seemed logical for twice-weekly podcast, “What’s Cookin’ with Nonna?” where I serve up oodles of food fun and hot kitchen tips, with a generous helping of sizzling nutrition news…and now the Baby Bites Blog!
Make yourself at home and let’s chat. I’ll do everything I can to help you transform your picky eater into a healthy eater!
So, enjoy this post called A Mother’s Day Gift for you. And for all the baby boomers reading this post, keep passing it on!

I stumbled upon a really cool baby boomer blog while participating in a discussion on videos on your blog. The blog is AskCherlock.
The insightful and opinionated blog authors started the site in March 2008. He is Fiscal Analyst and small business ownerand she is a Licensed Private Detective. Both of them are from Pittsburgh, PA.
Their blog mission is to provide: Boomer Thought Mode-Politics-Opinions-Life Issues-Impact. They are, after reading several of their posts, successful with each post.
But then in the midst of the thoughtful posts is a page with a single video. Their love of music provides a fresh new video every week. How cool
Check out the music video for this week.
But play it twice while you glean some of the very interesting posts from two baby boomers with a lot to say. Be sure to make your comments.

Health is one of the main concerns of baby boomers. We are concerned about the health of our children, parents and finally ourselves. I feel that our concern for ourselves is critical if we are to help others. As a long time Community Health Educator I was excited about compiling this list. And as a caregiver and baby boomer I know that it is important to have resources that speak directly to the needs of baby boomers.
Of course not all the blogs in blog world are listed in this little list. This is just a way of “priming the pump.” (Getting the water to flow) The list is limited to baby boomer authors or sites directed to baby boomers. Note also, that all the blogs in this list are by real people. Many sites were omitted from my list although they were directed to baby boomers because they did not have an ABOUT page or information about the authors.
If any sites are included without an ABOUT page it is because I knew the author to be a live person not a robot or sales machine.
Please tell me about other blogs that are by or written for baby boomers. I hope the resources are helpful to you.
Thanks so much.
A blog on brain health by Suzanna B. Stinnett who states:

When you go to this blog you are engaged by funny cartoons in each post. This compliments the blog theme and highlights the comfortable navigation of the site.
What I also like about the site is that the design provides an opportunity to share, on the front page, what the site is all about. This makes me want to go beyond the cartoons to get to more of the meaty substance.
Many of us dream of being successful at work but are unsure how to make this dream reality. At Humorous Reality our focus is helping you develop a successful work life and culture in your office and organization.
We accomplish this by helping you realize this dream with a little humor while keeping it real. It is this selective mixture of humor and reality which allows you, co-workers and direct reports to embrace, understand, and implement strategies developing into a more highly engaged and productive workforce.
Harry Humorous and Rita Reality work together in a cartoon format on this blog to deliver timely information and content that you can use now.
One of my favorate posts is on Listening. Which is also one of my passionate topics. They provide eight(8) clear strategies to improve your listening skills. An must in any job situation. In addition I was impressed with the opportunity to include my Twitter Id. I need to add it to this site as well.
I think that they could benefit from a separate page on the site for meeting planners who want to know their training and speaking details. As well as anyone needing personal coaching. The current economic situation in the US makes the skill set of the authors in more demand beyond the blogging platform. In additon, I wanted to see what product offerings they had available.
So, thanks to the authors of this blog that both educates as well as entertain. Go visit and be sure to laugh a bit as well and soak in the cutting edge content presented by two great professionals.

Baby Boomer Journey is a realistic look at the exciting, sometimes ignored, travels of a baby boomer. I like the fact that the author is a man giving a peek into many of the issues related to baby boomers in general as well as males in particular.
I was especially impressed with his post on the presidential election and the lack of focus on healthy children. It was well written, and the author, Mark, shared a personal story about his son that was a wake-up call to the need for action in our busy schedules.
I did not see an archive on the site so I don’t know how long he has been posting. But I think each post holds it’s weight providing interesting book reviews and commentary. There are going to be lots more posts but after reading the bio of the author you may wonder when will he have time. He is living a full and balanced baby boomer life. Hence, I suspect that every post will be valuable and worth reading.
I fully expect this site to bloom even more with insights into the baby boomer journey. Below is the mission of the site from the About page. Be sure to read information about the author also. I am always impressed when I stumble on a site and actually see that it is owned by real people and not a link bait farm.
Welcome to Baby Boomer Journey!
Baby Boomer Journey is an interactive forum resource dealing with topics and issues appropriate to all Boomers.
Over the next 11 years, 11 million Baby Boomers will be resigning their present positions and going into a phased retirement. Many will continue part time in their current professions and many will choose to in a completely different direction.
Whatever the case, Boomers will continue to drive the economy and thrive in their personal and professional lives.

If cooking or eating good, oops I mean great food is your passion then you simply must visit Cooking With Deney.
Ok, let me back up a bit. I went to Beverly Mahone’s blogtalk radio show today. After listening to a great show, I decided to see what I missed last week. It was all about starting your home-based bakery. Now, it just so happens that I know a lot of great cooks. Sometimes I use my imagination and pretend but more often I am on the eating side.
It was awesome to hear a baby boomer who is still doing, teaching and empowering others like Denay. Her site provides opportunities to learn in person, private or online. In addition, she has a place to ask questions. Yes, I asked about my hairdresser who has a great Chile dish and wants to market it.
She also has a blog where you can get even more insight into her cooking, philosophy etc. I especially liked what she had to say about the Food TV Network.
So visit when you get a chance. I am going back. Thanks Denay!
PS You must meet a personal friend of mine, named Chef Jesse!
I do believe when I can afford it I want you to do the baking and Chef Jesse to do the cooking as a meals on wheels for folks sick and shut in and seniors I know. It is one of my dreams.

A special blogging boomer buddy is doing a cookbook! Betty Lynch, the blogging genius behind My Country Kitchen, is looking for writers. Please read and circulate the request below. Thanks
My Country Kitchen is desperately in need of your help!! I’m writing a cookbook for the 99 Series. This cookbook is for DADS who don’t know how to cook, but want to spend valuable time with their children. Food is an awesome way to spend quality time together. I want to add stories about Dads and kids cooking together in the kitchen. It can be funny, kitchen disasters, or inspirational stories of what went on with Dad and kids in the kitchen. If your story is selected to be in the cookbook, we will put your name and website address with your story in the cookbook in hopes to give you some exposure. Please email me at betty@mycountrykitchen.com. I need these stories as soon as possible. Our goal is to have this cookbook out by Father’s Day, 2009.
